Health Reimbursement Arrangement

While not required, a Health Reimbursement Arrangement (HRA) is usually offered in conjunction with a High Deductible medical plan which significantly lowers the insurance premium.  A portion of this premium savings is used to reimburse plan participants when unreimbursed qualified expenses are incurred. Typically, after all expenses and premiums are paid, the HRA results in a net reduction of costs ranging from 15%-25%.
